circulating tank heater???

I bought one of these on Amazon for my 98 expy 5.4 Eddy. I thought it just hooked up to the heater core hoses but the instructions say something about a "block drain"????? Anyone have one/installed one????? How'd ya hook it in??? Does it work well????

I used tank heaters when I lived in the frozen north. They work very good when installed properly. The device works on natural convection, i.e. heat rises, cold in the bottom and heat out the top.
The lower connection on the tank heater connects to the block drain and the upper connection goes to the heater hose. Get the block drain connection as close to level with the heater.
