I never thought to go in and tweak the stages in an amp like that. Used to be that the tuner caps got crudded up along with every variable control on the front panel, and plain old tuner cleaner spray was the answer...

Ahh...stereo equipment!
I retired my Marantz 240 power amp, Marantz 3200 Preamp, Kenwood tuner and Pioneer RG 1 Dynamic Range Expander as well as a Dual 1019 turntable.
I needed the space so I replaced all that with a HK receiver that is just as powerful as the Marantz.
I still use my Optimus Linear tracking turntable as well as my Sansui 7 way speakers when I get in the mood to play my extensive collection of 45s and Lps that go all the way back to the 50s.
Can't beat that sound from a good, clean vinyl disc on a good stereo system!
