Didn't mean to tie up everyone's panty's. He did a nice a job asides from the color, but I wouldn't do all that work on something I'd take wheelin.
And to the UTFball fella, I know that the TTB isn't the best, but it's what I have for now and is doing what i need it to do. And it's a d35, try to know something before you start making fun people who don't have a $1000 or more for a SAS.
ford 4.0 has a good point UT IMO as long as it takes you off road and provides good times who cares...i was trying to do an SAS to get rid of my d44TTB but with the other **** i got goin its gonna have to stay for now and i plan on gettin a 6" lift and 36" superswampers before i do SAS and my truck is FARRR from a pavement princess so are you gonna rant on me when i thorw 36s on a TTB and take it wheelin?

It's great it does what you need it to do...I'm sure the truck you were insulting does what he needs it to do as well. And I'm sure Ben knew it was a TTB35...using context clues, it sounds like to me he was poking fun at you...making it seem like you would think the TTB44 is the end all to be all, instead of stepping up to a real axle.

9ford5...you're exactly right, who cares...but if that's the case ford_4.0 should have never opened his mouth and insulted the truck...I mean heck look at what he's got...sure it does what he needs, but it's nothing compared to the truck he insulted. As far as keeping the TTB44, you probably won't get flamed, but you'll get alot of "I told you so's." Sure the TTB44 might stand up to the abuse, but if you wheel it hard enough...eventually it will break. So figure that into the equation, now you spent money on a lift and tires (that could have more than paid for the SAS) with a broken TTB44. SO now what...now your forced into spending more money in buying replacement parts for the TTB, or forced into doing the SAS (which at this point you don't have the money). So you'd be money ahead, or not sidelined because you're broken and can't afford parts or the swap because you spent it all on the tires and lift. I personally prefer to do it right the first time...take the money for the lift and tires and do the swap...because you're riding stock height now, so what's it hurt if you go a little longer with the right axle for the job and just keep going where you've been going until you can afford the lift and tires. Just my two cents, and no flaming, just 'told ya so's' when you come back saying that you broke the axle and you can't afford to replace it since you spent it all elsewhere.
im just doin the lift and tires first cause i absolutely hate my tires and i wont be ridin on that TTB long after the lift and tires...not long enough to break it anyways cause i want to wait for good weather to do the SAS in and by then i will have the money for both anyways...if i do the tires and lift asap ill get better trade in on my old tires too haha
this truck is going to look alot different next year. i am getting rid of the dana 44 and going dana 60 front and 70 rear. then 44 inch boggers.
i don't know how to put pics on here so u can see it at my website www.redneckfun.piczo.com
eveybody likes to say something like they know what you have. it has a 6 " block and is only for temporary as i'm in the the middle of a whole sh#t load of things right now and haven't put my shackle flip in yet to get my block out. this isn't some redneck inbred hillybilly built truck here. Money was actually used to build it and wasn't a poor mans build. one of the hardest part about building a truck is actually finding the parts you need to get to your next step. 13 " should be plenty i wouldn't worry about that for clearing 44's. i need flares as well but i'm going to use the 1 3/4" flares because i will not cut out my fenders or lose my race track trim. as far as i'm concerned flares are ugly and look like ***** but what can you do.

i don't want to use them either. but i want to fit 44's. i have been collecting parts for about 6 months. i got the dana 60 front. dana 70 rear. now i have to save up for the lifts. suspension and body. thats how i am getting the 13inch's. i am keeping my coil front suspension. i am trying to fit them like that first, then if i need more i will use the flares. i hope to see some pics of yours when its all done. looks good!thanx for the info.
