would a bad fuel filter cause motor to sound a whole lot different? i took off my diablo and im only getting like 14mpg and my motor is only making wierd sounds when in the throttle nothin when defueling or at idle. thanks
I dont know about sounding different. Have you noticed surging (for lack of a better word) when you hit the gas? I switched to biodiesel not too long ago and my filter was pretty clogged and it felt almost like it was losing power. It never hurts to replace it anyways. Whens the last time it was changed?
it was replaced bout 10k mile ago im still tryin to track down the rest of my noises and thats about the only thing left to do without diggin any deeper
wouldn't necesarily cause a sound that "plays" only when fueling? im startin to think maybe injector related.. im gonna do a fuel filter and cps tomorrow
cps could cause noises? im probably gonna let the instructor drive it tomorrow and let him tell me what he thinks i just hope it aint injectors cause i cant afford um right now for sure. my only option would be to rebuild um
A "dirty" fuel filter will make you lose power at the "top end" when you are calling for more fuel.
i noticed a "lack of power" while on the highway last week. no problem with cruisin city streets, but at higher speeds on the highway. haven't changed air filter in a year and fuel filter in 16,000 miles. changed my fuel filter and air filter friday nite and "whooooow" what a beautiful thing. i guess the gradual decrease in power wasn't noticeable over time but the instant increase with the new filters was awsome. like the truck was new again. the power came right away. fell in love all over again.
