Wife totaled her 97 Blazer so today I test drove a really nice 03 Explorer at the dealer with 88,000 miles. I noticed it would hesitate and then go into gear hard when stopped and shifting from Drive to Reverse or back from R to D. Not every time but maybe 75% of the time. It seemed to think about it for 2 to 3 seconds and then give you a pretty decent jolt as it went into gear either way. Not sure what trannys are in the explorer either.
Never felt a tranny do this before so I'm sure something is wrong with it. Salesman also felt it had problems. Any ideas or should I just stay away from this one?

Reason: more info
Just talked to a local tranny shop and they indicated it could be low on fluid or it could be more serious issue like a problem in the valve body. Sound right?
