If your motor is moved any you should get it to a frame shop and have it looked at. It sounds like you may have a bent frame. If your truck is a manual you will just need to replace the bell housing. If it is an auto tranny you will need a new one.
You may need to look into getting a new radiator support as well if your radiator is touching the fan. FTE Ken can get you a good price on parts.
Good luck with your truck. Hopefully it is not as bad as it sounds.
hope ya didnt get hurt. ya if the motor moved it should be looked at by a pro, sounds like your step dad would be a good start. if the frame is damaged, sometimes it can be repaired. and if you fix it yourself, go ahead and replace anything that could need replacing while you have it apart, saves a lot of time later.
If the bellhousing is busted, (bellhousing is on the tranny) then you would want to replace that for sure. Rad and shroud is easy to replace, and the front body pieces are easy too.
Im curious, are you sure the motor moved on you? If the rad is in the fan, it could have just been the rad or the support that shifted, and hopefully not the motor.
Wow thats crazy you must have plastered it good to have moved the motor and such back and over. Poor S 10 . Can you post pics of your truck and the damage maybe we can tell more. Hopefully its fixable !
its is an automatic. so you say i'll need a whole new tranny? i'm really just going off what i've been told. they said there is no frame damage. they also said thats weird. but i'm not complaining. I don't even think you can tell any real damage to it with pictures.
the s10 got away with a few new dents and needs a new tailgate and headlights and grill (i caused him to hit the car in front of him too) but he had no real damage and was able to drive away.
no one was hurt, except i feared the other drivers were gonna hunt me down. they all got citations also, one for a suspended license and the other for driving without proof of insurance.
That sounds like quite the story! Makes me wonder how the hell it happened
For a bellhousing, if its just cracked, ya might be able to get that welded. Some of them are removable too, so ya can just replace that. (although Im not realy sure which ones are removable and which ones arent, and on second thought that might be on a manual instead of an auto) Might be cheaper to find a good used tranny though.
Hopefully someone can confirm.
What kind of auto do you have? If you check the door jam sticker it should have a code on there... I have an AOD sitting in the box of my project truck that i can go check to see if the bellhousing is removable or not.
kez, one thing i would suggest is to start a different thread for each problem/question.
it is hard after a thread gets to 5+ pages and 5+ topics to remember what is what.
Agreed.
When you start a new thread, to to make the title relative to your problem/issue and not just say need help. That way people can get an idea what the issue is before they click on it.
Thats a shame that your truck is wrecked. I think the motor mounts may just be broken also.
