I want to upgrade the injectors in my truck, however, I still want to get decent fuel millage. will upgraded injectors do that or will I only get more power?
I have no personal experience with aftermarket performance injectors or upgrades, but the general consensus is that 160cc single-shot injectors (AC code) will give you the best of both worlds if you're looking for little power increase but better economy on a budget. You will need new tuning for the single shots to get the most out of them because your idle/driveability will suffer and you won't gain power unless you're tuned for them. As far as nozzle size goes, someone else may have real world experience with stock or larger nozzles.
Since it seems of little importance at this stage, I won't get into HPOP savings with single shot vs. your "AB" split shot injectors. E99 trucks came with AB's.
I put Swamps 175cc single shots in my truck, and I think my economy went down. But, it could be a leaky up pipe i got too..... either way it's not too hard to do, just time consuming but well worth the added SOTP feel.
I would also recommend Swamps. Get a set of stage one injectors, and their chip, you'll be good to go. Safe reliable power, and if you drive caucasian you will get better mileage too.
