Need help...as weather gets colder, no interior lights before ignition starts. Ignition starts up no problem, then no power windows, instrument panel dummy lights, or get this......wipers. I've been to a dealer 3 times with no luck. Problem is intermittent and corrects itself anywhere from 1-2 minutes up to 20 minutes after it warms up. The latest and greatest diagnosis from the electrical shop is a "time window module" near the dash driver side ??? Or could it be the ignition...but don't understand that deal based on no lights before the ignition starts. It's getting worse before it gets better. Here in Texas problem begins 40 degrees or cooler. Any ideas? Appreciate the help.

I'm not sure if anyone has answered you yet, but I recently had simular problems with my 98 F250 4x4. My problem was that when I went to start the truck there was no electricity going to the fuel pump. They chased down the problem to be a faulty fuse box. The one under the dash. They replaced that and everything was fine. Hopefully this will help you. PS The starting problem was also intermintent.
Check your fuses, this will not likley be the problem. But I would start at the ground wires to these accessories. Your grounds could be corroded or they could get frozen up by dew at night.
It's the GEM (Generic Electric Module) that is bolted to the back of the fuse box. It controls the radio, wipers, dome lights, warning buzzers, etc. If you wanna see something really goofy, unplug it. I did that and the radio came on with the ignition off. If I turned on the dome light, the radio turned off. Why they designed it that way is beyond me.
Don't be a parts replacer, 80% of the time GEM's get replaced there is nothing wrong with them it was an electrical problem the whole time . Get an EVTM find the circuits trace the wiring etc. You should find the problem. Good diagnosing not guessing will save you allot of money.
