I have a F350 6.0l auto and today up and out of no where, I get out of my truck and my radio stays on and my windows roll up and down with the door open and key out of the ignition. sometimes after this when I unlock my truck with the remote the dome lights and cargo light do not work and sometimes they do. Seltbelt light does not come on when you unhook your setbelt going down the road. Sometimes the radio will go off like it should and then a few minutes later it comes back on by itself. Also the drivers door when you lock it from the inside it unlocks itself like the key is in the ignition but it is not. Any help would be nice.
Not sure if this goes along with it but the other day I was pulling a trailer and it felt like the trans jerked one time. I have a superchips tunner set on stage 2 could this be a problem? should I install it back to stock and go from there?
Truck as 54,000 and tuner has been in it since 06
HELP!
Not long, just a minute or so, turn the lights on to drain the voltage and make sure you do not have any battery chargers or anything plugged in that can back feed the computer.
I had similar problems with myf250...including the trans would do some screwy stuff when in overdrive.....went on a year.... long story short was the battery....even though it started fine and ran fine for the most part... the battery was 6 yr old and turned out to be the culprit... My lesson is the ford ECM with any odd low voltage condition effects things in the weirdest way... I had windhseild wiper on with the switch off along with waht you described.. no techs caught this.... before you spend too much money... a 75 dollar battery is what I now recommend before dumping 80-100 // hour tech time
