You can try and do a search on here to find a write up but it is pretty basic and strait forword you will need to rent or borrow wrenches to remove the fan and clutch
quick and easy on the nut ,,, use a long chisel and give it a good whack on one side to loosen,,works good and eliminates the need to buy special wrench and torn knuckles. Use the same to re-torque
my fan clutch is not reverse threaded, so watch that- don't tighten it on accident. the 97's may be different than mine- so just make sure.
another thing... be real careful not to deform the fan clutch nut trying to loosen it so much that it prevents free movement of the clutch when you put it all back together. if any of the nut rounds out and touches the fan clutch- file the edges down so they don't touch clutch at all. i learned that lesson the hard way and ended up with a new fan clutch and radiator (in addition to the water pump).
putting it all back together, i chose to go the route of cheater bars rather than whacking wrenches with bfg/deadblow and wish i had done the same for removal. personal choice though... whatever you have access too...
make sure you clean all sealing surfaces very well too. with new t-stat square gasket and water pump o-ring, i used no sealant at all (except on threaded fittings) and have no leaks.

Ha! Thats funny, went to borrow the fan wrench from my uncle (he's a ford tech) and he told me the same thing. Worked awesome! altough I think I was a little more trigger happy then I should have been.
