I bought a 2000 F350 and the 4 wheel drive will not engage. It has shift on the fly but the hubs will also "lock", neither work. I am not sure if I am doing it wrong or maybe it is just not working. any help would be great!

Well if the manual locking portion isn't getting it working you need to check the electrical connection on the side of the transfer case. Have someone switch the selector in the cab while you are under there. Tap it with a hammer lightly while they are doing it and see if you can see and hear it switch. If not, there is your problem. Now you have to see where the loss of continuity is in the curcuit.
If the selector is working and you see and hear it move then you have transfer case issues.
Are you sure the hubs are locking? Turn your switch to the 4x4, then try to turn your front joints. You may need a bar to get them started, but if you can turn the front joints, you are looking for a vacuum leak, or the motor is bad.
Do check to see if the motor is working on the transfer case. I can turn the **** and hear the motor running.
I love the ESOF, but you need to keep on top of it.
