so im attempting to sell my truck on saturday.. well today i get a fix it ticket now i cant sell it till fixed... i cant fix it without spending atleast $5,000 (headlight height) if i take it it to get signed off ill get a million other fix it tickets? we got any friendly peace officers that want to lend a helping hand?
Im in Los angeles (Calabasas) right now.. and untill tuesday .. you would save me the sale of my truck or $5000.... let me know.... that would be awesome!
If I was in your situation, I think I'd just go to a 6" lift, get some 37's and keep it. You're going to have to do the fix anyway, and you'd be giving it away if you sold it after putting all that money into it. Maybe someone else has a "magic pill", but I don't know what it would be.
Kinda sounds like your only option would be to get it registered as an off road only vehicle, then you can pretty much have it any way you want, but don't quote me on that. I would say that you're lucky you haven't gotten tickets earlier, you got a sweet ride, but it definitely stciks out like a sore thumb.
I was hoping i could just pay the ticket, but from what ive gathered i can only fix it ? maybe thats a load of **** ? Its looking like im taking the lift off if i cant just pay the fine and sell it.
How high are the headlights out of spec? Could you get it in spec by putting smaller tires on and not messing with the lift? Just throwing an option out there that might save you from taking the lift off. You might be able to get the head light housings like they use on baja bugs and mount them below the bumper also. Good luck with this.
When I had my car that needed to constantly have stuff signed off I could go to Sheriff station and be charged $10 or have the CHP do it for free. But then again that was yrs ago.
