MY Rear end squeaks
2001 4.0 explorer xlt 1118000 milkes, drivers rear end squeeaks when I am driving ... It also squeeks when I rock the truck when I do it from outside.
Sounds like the leafs are squeeking? can in be?
what can be done?

If your mileage is really 1118000, then a squeaking rear is probably the least of your worries... or Ford will be calling you to buy that truck back and put it in the museum....
But seriously, my '99 did this when i first bought it. It was around 46,000 miles. Every speedbump or hard braking would make both sides squeak in the back. It started the day after I got the truck home, so I brought it back to the dealer and they changed out the rear suspension bushings... IIRC it was under recall for premature failure of the bushings, but I am not positive... This was 6 years ago. Either way the shop covered the cost since it was just purchased, so I am not sure of the cost, but it shouldn't be too much.
The silicone lubricant idea should be at least a temporary fix...
