[updated:LAST EDITED ON 01-Oct-02 AT 06:33 PM (EST)]I wanna put a total of 4" lift on a 92-96 f-150 4x4(Don't have it yet). So right now i'm looking around for options.
I see class I/II kit/sytems for skyjacker. What's the diff between Class I/II? and the difference between the kit and the system? The class II system is expensive!
I'm on a budget so I was thinking a 2-3" body lift with tortion bars or add a leafs or something? I'd like to get 4" out of it and the truck leveled out.
I'd like to fit 33x12.50 BFG M/T's on it, and I don't wanna fill the wheel wells up completely, I want it to look nice.
No torsion bars for these setups. The stage I kit has just radius arm drop brackets and blocks for the rear. The stage II lift gives you new rear leaf springs and extended radius arms and I believe stronger axle pivot brackets. Get the stage I if you're going to be doing anything light for off roading. If you want to get into anything above normal, get the stage II system. The stage II system will ride better by the way. Stay away from add-a-leafs, all they do is increase the stiffness of your ride. I don't like lift blocks either, they put more leverage on the spring for increased wheel hop, which just plain stinks, but lift blocks are ok. Get the stage II. 4" of lift will fit 33s nicely. Keep in mind you'll probably want to regear, you must get a truck with 3.55s, don't get a truck with 3.08 gears (there is a tag on the rear diff that says what it is) most 4x4s are 3.55s. 3.73s or 4.10s are best for 33s, but the 5.8L will do ok on 3.55s. This lift/tires/gears combo is an expensive one, so make sure you figure out what everything is going to cost before you get carried away. The lift is around 900-1000 for the stage II. You need shocks and I believe you need extended brake lines too. The tires are going to be about 160-170 a piece plus mounting and balancing, so say $185 x 4 = $740. Two sets of gears for front and rear will run you about 400-425. Installation for those gears is going to run you 500-600 depending on your location. Don't forget rims, which can be 35 bucks each for crappy ones that will rust, or 200 a piece for some sweet ones. So there is another 200-800+. Don't buy rims that will rust, you're wasting your money if you do that. I priced my 6" lift at 1500 w/ shocks and brake lines included. Plus almost 1000 in rims, and 800-850 in tires. Plus 400 for gears, another 200 for the axle rebuild kits, adds up VERY fast, it's crazy.

Just get 2" leveling coils and 2" body and you'll be good to go.

Well, 5" lift and 33's would leave a bit of wheel well left. You could cram 35s on a 4" lift, so I think a total of 4" of lift and 33s would look better vs a 5". Whats an inch you might say but, thats my opinion.

Look at the picture of my red truck, it has 32s on what would look like a 2" lift on a 4x4. 33s are only 1/2 an inch larger all the way around.

I think the 4" lift with 33's would be more proportional. I don't wanna go any bigger right now because of money even though i'd liek a 6" lift with 35's.
Well, take some time and think about it. 3" body lift and 2" level coils will make 5" of lift, which would fit 35s pretty decent. Just, informing you.
