Me AGAIN!!!
So if I gather all the info y'all gave me so far for putting a 93 Bronco 5.8L automatic into a 92 F150 5.0 5 speed............I have to keep the old intake, put a new flywheel on the 5.8, keep the 92 computer, keep the 93 exhaust manifolds, tinker with the exhaust somehow (not sure about this yet)
You agree with me on this???
Thanks for all your help!
Scott
There have been people here that had trucks as new as '95 with an AOD tranny... but this was never offered behind the 5.8 to my knowledge. It is possible the Bronco has a C6, but if it has OD then it's most likely an E4OD. The tranny code on the door pillar will tell you for sure.
did you see the last reply about the only tranny bronco's had? what does this mean to me?
This means that you're options for an automatic transmission behind a 351w in a '93 bronco is an E4OD. To my knowledge they did not use the C6 in the bronco after about 1990.
Any other place I can look for numbers for what tranny I have in the Bronco....there's nothing on the door pillar
First figure out of it has OD or not.. look at the shift indicator. Does it have an OD switch on the dash or the shifter arm? Are there any electrical connections on the tranny? What does the tranny look like? See these items.. https://www.ford-trucks.com/article/...ers_Guide.html
OK:
There is no OD on the shifter/dash ....anywhere! The tranny has an embossed Ford logo on it and says Metric and there is a big bump in the middle of the pan, and no electrical connections on it.
Definitely looks like the bottom one, and like this says, has a big rubber plug in the bottom of the bell"
"AODE/4R70W go from 92 to present. It’s pan is similar to the AOD. These trannies have a large neutral switch (sometimes called a MLPS) mounted to the manual linkage and has a hole covered by a rubber plug on the bellhousing’s bottom. 4x4 truck pans (and 76+ model cars and 2wd trucks) are dropped near the center.
