Tie Rod Problem
OK I feel like a bit of a dumb$%^ here but I am having a problem. I am trying to replace the tie rod ends on my 91 f250 4x4 and can't get them removed. I have them popped out of the spindle and loosened the nuts on the adjuster sleeve but can't get them to turn. Will heating them up affect the strength of the components? Does anyone know of a trick tool, lubricant, or method to remove these? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Tie Rod Problem
Just went through this yesterday myself. Don't be gentle on this stuff . . . take a chisel, screwdriver, whatever and wedge it between the adjuster. Smack it with a hammer driving it open. Once it's open, it will spin much much easier. If you are lucky you can yank on the screwdriver or whatever and spin the adjuster. Now you can use the pipewrench, placing one jaw right next to the opening. If you put the jaws 90 degrees from the opening in the adjuster, it will crush it, tightening it on the tierod, making it that quite difficult to spin.
