2 questions

I'm getting ready to do a little maintenance and wanted to ask a couple of questions.

1 - What brand of u-joints do you all use for the driveshaft?

2 - Slotted or cross drilled rotors?

I'm not looking for the best of the best, just better than stock. Thanks for your input.

most will use or advise on spicer or moog u joints as they are greaseable and for the rotors the slotted will work great. i dont have any personal experience with drilled rotors but i have read alot of stories about them cracking.

Slotted Rotors, and if you tow, get them Cryo frozen

When I need u-joints, I look for Spicer first. If I can't find them, I'll buy Neapco joints as they have always served me well too.

Slotted rotors are the best choice, but only by quality manufacturers. All slotted rotors are not equal. There are junk Chinese ones out there that are worse than the lowest price Autozone ones.

Powerslot is a good rotor choice for these trucks.

I've been looking at Powerslot and Powerstop rotors. I'll probably go with Powerslot. Do cryo'ed rotors really make that much difference?

Where is a good place to find Spicer or Moog u-joints?

Yes. The cryo process strengthens the steel. Ford trucks are notoriously rough on the brakes. My F-150 ate rotors at the rate of 1 set of fronts a year and my F-250 is no different (only had the truck a year and my rotors are starting to warp). I would invest in the cryo rotors. I've heard nothing but good things about them and that they last. It might cost more up front, but you'll save in the long run with fewer replacements.
