Hey Ya'll, I have been here just alittle while and need some help. I am getting some error codes on a code reader I dont understand. I am getting an EPC curcut failure and a transmission 4/3 circuit fault. I have a trany with less than 1000 miles on it and have just replaced the TPS. What is causing the faults??
Found the answer in another post. Go ahead and tell me

so durnzuki, what was the cause of the error code or did you get it fixed yet. the reason im asking is because i have been having the same error codes for quite some time now. i also have a code reader and clear the codes everytime the od light starts blinking. it normally last till i hit a steep incline and it goes to blinking again. here lately ive just been letting it blink, it had been blinking for about three weeks when i decided to moved my camper so i could cut the grass. my camper is pretty heavy so it put a little strain on the trans to get it moved out the yard. it did something strainge when i put it in reverse, as i preceeded to back the camper up with the strain on it in reverse the od light stopped blinking and it stayed off. after i finished up with the grass i had to make a 60 mile trip to do some errons and the first bridge i came to low and behold the od light is blinking again, so its been a long battle with trying to figure this trans issue out. so if theres any fixes that you have found i would be very interested to hear them. sorry for the long drawn out story. lol
first of all never list your code readers definition only . list the code for us
many generic code readers have incorrect code definitions and will send you on a wild goose chase
there is no such thing as a 4/3 circuit fault
I was told that the 4/3 circuit fault (which is a code 62) is a common thing on an E4OD because it sets it off if the puter if the engine has over a 500RPM change while in OD. The EPC fault is when the computer tells the tranny to put full pressure on the lines and this is caused by, you guessed it, the tranny slipping in OD.

According to my info, code 62 is excessive convertor clutch slippage.

Yep, it will set off at anything over a 500RPM difference. In e4od that's pretty often. I have did perfomance and off road for over 25 years and this is the SORRIEST tranny ever made. I just had this one rebuilt and when it goes out, which is probably pretty soon, it will be replaced with a C-6. I only use it for towing and cant tow in over drive anyhow. This is the 3rd tranny in this truckin 2 years. Heavy duty clutches, billit converter and I am STILL having trouble. It's almost as bad as the early allisons.
yes i feel your pain, i also have a c-6 tranny that ive considered putting in it. its just my truck has 410 gears and the three gears that the c-6 has would be very hard on fuel as it is already with a od tranny in it.
i just tried something on my truck a few minutes ago. i also have a 85 with the 6.9, i took the tach sensor out of the 85 and put it in the 93 just to see if it would change anything and it did. the od light stopped blinking, but the rpm gauge wasnt working until the engine got over 1500 rpm's and it would start working and there was no od light. im just wondering if its the tach sensor thats the problem. it just seems funny that it wouldnt throw the od light with the tach not working, but it would with the tach working.
