I'm wanting to put those orange lights to shine on my steps and i was wondering what i fuse i need to wire them into so when i hit the unlock button on my key less entry they light up?
I know someone will correct me if I'm wrong but there is a harness underneath the rears of the front fenders (I have them on my truck, you may want to check yours) that I always thought was an entry lighting harness. If that's true you could probably use those to wire in some lights.

It would help to know what year/engine type your truck was.
I know the 2000 Excursions had that harness, but I don't believe my 2002 F250 does. The real problem your going to run into, is the dome light circuit may not turn on lights until you open the door. If you have an aftermarket alarm there may be an output for courtesy lights that will burn for several seconds after you press a button.
Maybe I'll have to grab a neon bar or something and try hookin it to that harness in the fender. I know my dome light turns on with the unlock button on the remote.
The parking light wire will only illuminate the lamps when the parking lights are on or if the alarm flashes them. I believe he's looking for courtesy lights. The parking light wire should be brown at the switch.
He said he wants them to light up when he hits the unlock button which would be the parking light circuit, if he want courtesy lights he needs to say that. So to answer his question it would be the parking light circuit as mentioned earlier.

Nope.
He wants them to stay on long enough for someone to get in, not just flash like the parking lights.
Find the circuit for the center dome light. It stays on for 25 seconds on entry/egress. I don't know where the timer is in that circuit though.
