Mule Lives Again!
Mule was my 96 Bronco. I sold it a few years ago and drive Green my 94 Exlplorer these days.
I sent Larry an e-mail and told him that was a great story. But my rememberer broke and the only time I remebered me and him shoot'n ghost's was in NM with Caveman. Outlaw and I can be fast with chores and had the campfire set up and goin. It was cold and we needed it. Caveman was still cook'n his evening meal. He has a little cook stove that sounds like a jet engine and starts most every meal by sett'n his cook stove and table on fire. Larry and I were amusing ourselves with this but tired of it in short order and went back to enjoy'n the campfire. There was a little stream at the back of our campsite up against a rock wall. We were face'n the stream and rock wall and Caveman was off to our right and behind us a bit. We heard a critter in the stream make'n noise and tried to find it with our flash lights. Larry pulled out mother his Taurus .357 mag. And I carry two(at least). A S&W model 13 with .357 hollow points (great for smaller vermits-4 or 2 legged) and a Ruger in .45 Colt with special 300 grain soft point rounds fer baar. That dang ghost critter keept at it for a while with Larry and I think'n we was gonna have fresh meat fer breakfast. Then we gave it up realize'n it was just Caveman. Seems he intertained us with the fire show so's he need some intertainment in return. Didn't take much. He just let us get settled at the campfire and then a few well placed rocks thrown at the rock wall and stream.
Now the dance'n with Baar story even more fun. Cause we did dance with'n a baar then. And I only had the hollw points in the RV then. That is when I came home and found the heavy 300 gr. soft point Baar gitter loads fer my RV's.
Any way Larry's story in the January 2009 issue of 4 Wheel Drive is not as long as the one I posted the link to but it is classic Larry. If'n you enjoy that kind of stuff it is worth the read.
