looking at taking my truck on her first real road trip (with me anyways) in about 2 weeks. round trip will be around 750-800 miles...we'll pass the 200k mark and then some! i know i will be towing but i don't know how much yet- do's or don't's for getting her ready??
Make sure all the fluids are topped off and that the oil and filter have been changed recently, check your tire pressure on all tires including spare and on the trailer you're towing and have fun.
I see from your public profile you are in one of my neighboring states so I will send you my cell and work #'s in case you need it.
I live everywhere between Crossville and Bristol, Even towards Asheville a bit. (Relocating)
PM sent
Definately have a spare CPS and the tools to swap it out. An extra serpentine belt might not be a bad idea either. Don't forget the cell phone and charger.
Is anyone still using CB radios? My wife looked at me "funny" when I said I wanted one for my truck.
I have a CB in my truck. Never use it but it was handy coming home from Missouri with the truck in the worst ice storm in the last 10 years. The truckers keep you up on the brake checks and road closings.
I love my CB...its nice to talk to folks on long trips and you can keep tabs on state troopers. Also for us folks who 4x4, it makes communication while on the trail really really easy

Did you get your truck from TFB the teacher in Lamar?
CB's are awesome to travel with. They help when you need it, keep you out of trouble when you don't need it and can be a good friend on a long run in the middle of the night.
Oh yeah Miss Independant, I forgot to send the PM, it is sent now.

...and what would the tools for the cps be? ha...yeah, if you've seen my posts on the vac pump issue- yes, I now know a spare belt is a very good thing to have LOL!
I LOVE my CB! I found a new-in-box Cobra for $30 at Big Lots, so it was one of my first additions. usually I just put it on ch 19 and see what I can pick up most places we go wheelin it's a requirement anyways
we're headed to Danville, PA, flat-towing a Jeep and a bunch of parts, getting a new trail rig built! probably 6500-7k lbs. my friend's trying to talk me into a programmer before then...this is his thing, so he's paying for all my fuel...but I thought in all fairness I should tell him with that kind of weight, going uphill, I usually only get 10ish mpg :/
