Hi,
Just checking on what people are paying for the exhaust studs. I have to replace all of them in my EX, only a couple of ones left that are not broke.
What has been the price for the job done at the shop?
Thanks for the help.
Jim
I'm having them all done on both sides- machine shop told me somewhere between 1000 and 1500 for the job- They are either going to pull the motor or remove the heads- not sure whats is going to be easier yet!!- Has anyone done this job before and willing to share info????
Ford now uses stainless studs. You can get to the studs through the wheel wells. You need to remove the fender liners and you will have good acess.
I replaced all the studs with stainless bolts when I installed my headers. You have to be very patient and be willing the walk away. A right angle drill will help getting into the tights places. It is a very labor intensive job. The cost to have it done will be high seeing alot can go wrong if the proper steps are not taken.
I had 3 bolts broken off. I took it to the local Ford dealership as I do not have the tools or the mechanical ability to do this type of job. It cost me $850.00 to do the complete job. They took out all of the bolts etc and put in a new gasket and buttoned her all up. GOOD AS NEW!!
