Will This Work As A Kill Switch ?
Hi,
Got a '98 Expy w/5.4.
I'd like to install a kill switch and was considering using a
"high beam-low beam" floor switch like they used in '60's cars and before.
Any opinions- suggestions would be appreciated.

1. Remove the factory wires from the lighter. Reroute an ignition wire throught the lighter itself.
2. Solder the heating element inside the lighter to create a good contact.
3. To start the car...just push in the lighter. Drive as normal (do not remove the lighter).
4. When you get ready to leave the car...remove the lighter. DEAD ignition circuit ;-)

Oh...and one more thing...don't forget to make sure the lighter is NOT grounded during this proceedure. You are turning it into a 'switch' for a single, +12V ignition wire!!! If it is grounded you will need to insulate it from the chassis.
