Well, I got the oil changed and checked things out. Got the digital dash/speedo working again. went to change the tranny filter. It really needed it bad. Got everything drained, pulled the filter and Guess what!!! Canadian tire gave me the wrong filter. Yippee!!! Some places had said there were 2 different ones. Some places said only 1. C Tire was convenient and happed to still be open after work, so I went there for the filter. I had made a rule that I would only go there for parts that I knew exactly what they looked like. This one, I didn't. Guess I should have waited. Thing is, I need the stupid van for this weekend and I work Wednesday and Thursday night. I get 1 crack at it. When I'm in town tomorrow, I'll get it and put it in Thursday morning. I leave for the 'Peg Friday morning with it. At least this time I KNOW what the part looks like. The other one would have bolted up fine, It was just missing the suction tube. I also changed out the OD shift modulator. The diaphram was gone in it apparently. Now with a new one, it should shift into OD. Oh well....
It's my old '93. Decided to make the run into Brandon to get the things I need. Napa has the right part and I need to go to the wreckers for something else anyway.
Not really weird, just typical...... It's all good now. Well, except for the fuel pump (weak)and the mass air flow sensor (I think)....... She running and on the road now at least.
Brother in law lives down the road and said I could try out a MAF sensor from his '93 explorer parts truck. Then I'll know about that one. The fuel pump will still need to be done though.
Good stuff Dave, I`m hoping to get done on my 92 F250 4X4 yet this fall, it will be so nice to get it back on the road again.
One more good reason I`ve always stayed with only Fords, at least with the older vehicles, I could just go out back here at home and get a part or two from another vehicle I had.
