the difficulty with the electric pump is that the housing goes away, and the mounts for the A/C brackets, the Alternator bracket and the P/S bracket go away..
With that statement I am assuming the mount points are not on the holes that go through the pump into the block. If they are, it would just be a matter of using the correct length spacer to mount the brackets.
I see your dilemma. Other than fabricating some web of supports with mount points that would float where needed above the water pump, you are indeed between a rock and a hard place.

correct.. the mount points are separate bolt holes in the pump housing, not associated with mounting the pump to the timing cover.
I don't know if it will help Sam, but "billetspecialties.com" shows a complete "kit" for a 460. Maybe you can get some ideas from looking at their belt routing and locations of several idlers.

yeh, they seem to have gotten idler happy.. (part of it is the size of the pulleys) altho they do use an idler between the crank and alt..
I haven't looked at a 460 vs 302 so this may be a dumb question but here goes anyway. Do you think it may be possable to adapt the reverse rotation 302 w/p to the 460 without it becoming a major issue? I know it is shorter then a v belt w/p (302 vs 302) so I would suspect it is shorter then the 460 pump. Which may allow the use of a adapter (if needed (custom made and of course expensive)) and still maintain your current accessory drive component locations. It's just something else to consider.
You may already have a reversable water pump. If so, it might make things easier.
The serpentine belt engines do indeed turn the pump in reverse rotation to the engine and the v-belt style turns the pump in same rotation as the engine. However the water pump impeller blades are straight cut in both applications and can be used in either direction. There is no difference between a clockwise rotating pump and a counterclockwise rotating pump.
Number Dummy even had a part number for the pump:

Reason: spelling goofs
Maybe it could be adapted or something similar could be fabbed to eliminate the water pump bracket mount points?
On the other hand, and this just occured to me, did Ford ever build a single belt unit for the 460? Are there any later model 460's that use a single belt? Why would they use 2 belts if one would do the job? I know GM will save a nickel on every car they can by cutting back if at all possible. Wouldn't Ford do the same thing?
I used the pulley & mount (machine shop sliced it off with a bandsaw) from a mustang serpentine tensioner and drilled a hole in the March Alternator bracket near the top center hole to mount the pulley.. This makes the belt come almost straight up from the crank, on its way to the alternator.
final routing diagram attached
voila.. no more squeal.. no P/S squeal lock to lock.. the alternator is putting out power and the temp seems to be holding just over 180.. (more testing tomorrow).. and maybe a quick drive down the street now that its quiet!
