Squealing noise
I have a 99 expy with the 4.6, 102k. When it is cold and the engine rpm increases rapidly, it sounds like the belt is squealing.
The alternator died a couple of weeks ago, so when I replaced it I rotated the pulleys of all of the accessories and they seemed to rotate fine. The tensioner appeared to bo putting plenty of pressure on the belt.
It sure sounds like it is the belt slipping. Suggestions on what to check?
