Question for Derek re Max Tow.
Hey DD. Aftr checking out various dealer lots and eventually finding a 09 w/the max tow pkg, I realized that the "upgraded rear spring (w/ 18's)" on a max tow pkg gets you a 4th leaf. I also noticed that all the trucks with 20"s had the 4th leaf regardless. My question: Why 4 stock on 20's? Is it to compliment "sporty" shocks for an overall firmer ride and better handling? Thx.
I also checked out "upgraded rear bumper" on a max tow. Could not visually see any diff over one w/o max tow beside it. Possible slightly thicker bracing. Would'v needed a caliper to know. Sticker on bottom of hitch said 11,500 max lbs vs. 10,500 max lbs. Pretty small difference? Though maybe you could shed some light on this.

Well since I'm not an engineer that sounds like a good reason to me 
As for the bumper...That might explain why some weighed more then others..
I'm really going to have to pay attention now that I'm back to work...I've only noticed 3 leafs on the truck...I'll have to take a better look tomorrow.

+1 i was not told this either until i found out a few months ago. but my dealer aint been able to change them since i ordered the truck. even though i have just been informed by a very helpful person on here (dont know if he could get in trouble for giving me details about me truck but he knows who he is
) that the truck has still not been built by the sounds of it. Im gonna have to change them to the smaller mirros out of me own pocket by the looks of it.
