i've looked at all the archived posts and my question was not answered. i own a 1986 F-150 4x4. i bought it with 265x75xR16's on it. on sharp turns it rubs. i'm looking to go down to a 15" rim. a friend of mine said i could put 15" x 8" rims with 31x10.5xR15's and avoid the rubbing while keeping the larger look.
Questions: 1. will 31x10.5xR15's on 15" x 8" rims stop the rubbing without sacrificing ride or handling? 2. with STOCK 15" rims, what is the better size to have that is a step up from the 235x75xR15's?
apoligies if i have repeated something from before.
the 265 size is almost a 32, so a 31 would be alittle bit smaller, but where are the tires rubbing? Depending on where, just changing the tire size may not help.
