I want to get that nice forward lean look on my 77 f-250. I was going to lift it but it is 2 wheel drive. So i figured that i would drop the front a little and raise the back a little. I dig that aggressive look. Does anyone know how i can accomplish this?
How about flipping the rear shackles? I know it is possible on my 1994, but am not sure about your truck. Others on this site have posted flipping the shackles have given around 3 inches of lift. Also, I replaced my shocks with Gabriel load carriers. That in itself raised my rear end about 1.5 inches. Try searching the forum for people who have done this lift. There are some pretty creative people on this site!
>It is level. Is there anyway to drop the front 1 or 2 inches?
I can't remember, does your truck have coils up front?
You could cut a loop out of your front spring, but I woulnd't do it.
Or possibly finding a shorter coil, that would fit.
The correct way would be with a drop spindle but I am not sure if they make it for your app. Plus it would be pricey compared to lifting the rear with a block.
2" blocks would be best. If you raise the rear and lower the fronts by cutting the coils you can run into a handling problem. Your caster will be way off due to the rake effect your looking for. Go with some huge *** tires in the rear like 35x12.50r16.5 BGFs and some 245/75r16s up front. Those changes in tire sizes can also help the appearnace you might be looking for.
