Fuel capacity ?

My truck is a '86 F-150, shortbed, 2WD, 300CI, 4-Speed overdive. Like many trucks of this vintage my fuel guage don't work (for now, but it will) and the only way that I can accurately know about the remaining fuel is by checking the mileage. So, I filled it up, drove for about 200 miles on Friday, then re-filled it, checked mileage and got what I thought was a respectable 17.6 mpg. That was with some 70-75mph interstate, and other mostly rural driving.

But still the question remains is what my tank capacity is?

what cabs are those wheelbase specs on? I would assume regular/crew, but then was the supercab on the shorter or longer frame?

117" and 133" wheelbase are Regular Cab long and short beds.

138" and 155" wheelbase is for the Supercab, long and Short Beds.

Not accorrding to the Ford Service Specification Manual. FPS 365-322-81

Shortbed Supercab is the 138" wheelbase.

Exact measurments 138.8"

It's a six inch difference from the 133" regular cab Long Bed.

Not trying to dispute your info but a Supercab short bed is built on the same wheelbase/frame as a reg cab long bed, thus 133". The only 138" wb truck Ford built is Econoline.

-------
For the F-350 Chassis cab 3475mm (136.8) and 4084mm (160.8) Both use 19 gallon tanks.
