Talking Hey Opt

Just wanted to say the box is almost done.
I made it;
13"H
12"W
12"D1
7"D2

I went to Tempes site and the calculations are .858 cu ft
The site says to subtract .05 for a 10" sub but may vary due to magnet size. So .858 minus .05 is .808 So with the sub in it i should be close my initial goal of .75cu ft. I did misscalculate on the center peice thinking I would have 20" in the middle for the amp if I made each sub 12" W giving me a total of 44"s width but what i failed to keep in mind was the thickness of the wood and I only have 17"s available for the amp and it's 17.58". I will have to cut the top and stand the amp up but it will stick out of the box now. When i am done cutting everything I will take pics and see if any of you guys have suggestions. The box fits perfect with out an inch to spare on any side. At first i didn't think it was going to fit but it does. Lord only knows how I'm going to carpet this box. i might take the easy way out and paint it to match the color of the truck.

Hey Opt

sounds good, dont feel bad about making mistakes...when i made my ported box i made it way to big, i used the dimesions i had as the inner and not out so i had to cut it down and i did what u did, forgot the thickness of the wood cuz i was making it in wood shop and trying to get it done before thanksgiving break. then i had to cut it down again cuz the angle wasnt enough and my seat was almost straight up and my chest was at the steering wheel. cant wait to get pics, if ur gunna paint it to match, MDF seems to absorb paint (at least what i seen) so u might wanna cover it with a thin layer of something. id try an extra peice to see if it does. u can always try the spray on bed liner way also...good luck on getting it covered and get some pics!!

Hey Opt

Did a quick solution for mounting the amp. I cut the bottom out since it's a down fire and i will put it at a slight angle. I did the liquid nails yesterday and today I will put a few more screws in all over the box. Man is liquid nails hard to get off your hands or what. I will take pics sometime this weekend when the box looks more decent. You know how it is half way thru a project...lol
Thanks for all the help!

If it isn't then I've been sending people to it saying it was yours. Sorry.
