Brother in law got a quote for 37,000 with Xplan but dealer would only give him 14,000 for his 2005. He decided not to do the deal.

Things are a bit more pricey up here, but I paid $37,000 for the XLT model 6.4 crew cab. I did get an additional 2yrs extended warranty and 24,500 for my 05 Excursion.

I just picked up my F250 Lariat 4x4 with 6.4L Diesel last week. Sticker was $51445, Xplan was $46936, Rebates total $9000 so not including trade and TTL my price was 37936.

Good luck with your purchase.

Sky's the limit for 08 discounts. Look for at least 15k off any of the $50,000+ MSRPs.

I just picked up a 08 cc 4x4 xlt with the 6.4 and a 4500 dollar flatbed and i paid 45k with 0% for 60 months. their taking about 7500 to 10k off with no 0% but the problem now is alot of companies are being forced to buy vehicles for tax purposes so the 08 are starting to dry up. love mine by the way.

bought on 10/20 in Austin, TX. MSRP was $53,095 - paid $39,410

I faxed my request to 4 dealers in Dallas and 4 dealers in Houston. Only one dealer called me back. I then called the dealers to find out what they would sell one to me. Most did not want to talk over the phone. I told them to check their caller ID and notice I am calling from out of town and will be buying next week (which I did). Out of the 8 dealers that I called only one in Houston actually tried to help. He told me about an additional $1000 incentive to the dealer (this is not what you will find on the Ford Incentive Website.) I then called my Austin dealer (I really wanted to have a local dealer for repair reasons) and asked about this additional $1000 and he gave it to me thus giving me the $39,410 price.

I know some people on here said they got better deals. If that is the case I am really happy for you. I tried everything that I could do to get the best deal and I am happy with what I have. If any one wants more information or proof, send me a private message.

Also got the 6 year - 75,000 mile Premimum Care extended warranty with $100 deductable for $1500. (I work from home so I do not put a lot of miles on a vehicle)

litespeedvortex,

Where did you buy in Austin? Just curious. It sounds like you got a good deal and if the warranty is a Ford ESP the cost on it was about $1200-$1300 so $1500 is a good deal for that. I am down the road in College Station and my local dealer only had a few on the lot but nothing I wanted so I made them locate one for me, intially the first few they found where not exactly what I wanted and were from the Dallas and Houston area. I did my own search and found one at Covert in Austin and one at Henson in Madisonville that had what I wanted so i told them either get one of those or I will drive to Austin or Madisonville and get it myself, they moved pretty quickly at that point.

I had to tell them about the extra $1000 as well.

I have also read some posts about people getting huge discounts and I would guess they are not giving all the details. Dealers make money off the sell of the vehicle, your trade, financing, and the sell of insurances and dealer added options. I guarantee those that claim they got these huge discounts ended up paying the dealer in another way. I have seen thousands of deals from Ford dealers all over the US and those that sell a vehicle for less than invoice always make it up from one of the other items I mentioned.

What's your guarantee? I'd interested as you'd soon be owing me something. My deal involves no trade and just a a check for the full amount from me to them. $54k list and they're already down to $37k. Over the next few weeks I'll get serious and see where we're at. I know $37k otd (equalling a $20k saving) can be done but want to see if I can do even better than that. Hope you understand I don't want to give dealer details until my deal is done. When it is, I'll send full details to a mod for confirmation of my truthfulness.

Carl,

I am not sure what TTL is in CA, but based on your numbers of 20K off I would assume 3K. The MSRP is 54K, which means invoice to the dealer is about 49K. Minus another $1500-2000 for holdback brings you to 47K. Current rebates I could find for CA are 8K (good through 11/18), so now your at 39K.

You are not trading anything and paying cash so there is no way to for the dealer to make some money off the finance reserve or your trade. I am also assuming the 54K is the MSRP on the window stick from Ford without any dealer added options. So in order for you to get down to 34K the dealer is going to sell you a truck for 5K less than what he pays Ford for it.

It does not make any sense for a dealer to make that deal but if so all I have to say is "You Da Man!!!" 37K otd is an awesome deal and maybe you can get more maybe not but I would like to know the name of the dealer or better yet see a copy of the sales invoice.

[quote=my1stF250;6722644]litespeedvortex,

Where did you buy in Austin? Just curious.

Leif Johnson Ford - Stephen Brown - Manager

Tell Stephen you heard that he gives great deals and if he does not, you will chase him down at Whole Foods. (The story: On a Friday Stephen gave me his "best" numbers. The next day, I saw him at Whole Foods Grocery store and asked about this "$1000 hidden thing" and he told me OK he will give it to me.

We located the truck in a little town 45 miles outside of Dallas. They told me that they would send a driver to pick it up. I said "NO!!". I am not going to pay NEW price for a truck that has 200 + miles on it. I told them they can trailer it down or I will pick it up. They said I could not pick it. I told them NO Deal. They changed their mind. I paid for it on a Monday. Flew up to Dallas on Tuesday and had friend take me to the dealer. I told the dealer I was the pickup driver for Leif Johnson. It was so funny. He handed me the keys and opened the door for me and pointed across the lot and said there it is. I was in and out in 5 minutes (after I checked the truck over well).

If anyone wants to see my paper work to help in their deal, send me an email to one of my many email addresses:
austinflyer (at) gmail (dot) com

Paul

FYI: Do not go to Covert Ford - long crappy story and it is not worth my time to type it.
