Ok, so I probably should post this in the "tech" section, but I thought that since this forum is specifically for this year you guys might have run into this.
I have a 55' F-100 that has a TCI M2 I.F.S. in the front and the rear susp. is from TCI as well. I also have thier ifs motor mounts and tranny crossmember. I have a 305 TPI out of an 87 Trans-Am(since it is 87 though it is actually a chev block) and a 700r4 behind it. It is sitting right now with the motor about where it should sit and the tranny bolted onto both the motor and the crossmember. The problem is that the tranny is basicallly pointed up towards the back. I am wondering.
1. Angle on the motor dosn't matter with Fuel Injection right? Not an extreme angle but I know that carbs have to be level not sure with Fuel Inject.?
2. What should the angle be on the transmission, do I want the tranny pan to be level? I thought that maybe tci had everything figured out before hand, buuuuut if you have ever talked to them on the phone than you know that usually you tell them somthing new about thier product every time becuase they just copy chassis engineering. Sad.
Oh yea, and I am adding on to the tranny bracket that they sell so that it uses the whole frame to support the transmission. Bad desighn on thier part for at least anything over 350 horse.
I think you are supposed to have your transmission at the same angle the rear end is, something like a 4 degree pitch down. If I'm understanding you correctly, that is.
