hi i just bought a 2000 f250 reg cab long box with a 5.4 an i was wondering what are this things real limits i mean ya i kno i get crap cause its not a "diesel" but it should be able to pull pretty well right??? any info on theses trucks will be great
It'll pull just fine. Redford has proved that over and over again. It may not be as fast as a V10 or diesel but it does the job. Go read through the 6.4 or 6.0 diesel forums, note the amount of problems people have and then thank yourself for not falling into that trap.
BTW: When the diesel guys get to makin fun, just ignore it. Most of them huff diesel and have soot in thier eyes.
I had a 5.4 f250 I runs good! Put cooper discovery SST's on it for off road good tire. I pulled my 8K travel trailer all the time. The 5.4 and I am sure the V10 love rpms that is your only issue, gotta feed it and stay in the left lane.
I traded to the Diesel because I will exceed the capabilites of the truck as I am getting a bigger travel trailer.

Unconstructive and uninformed post.
Congrats op, 5.4 is reliable engine and the 250 is built to commercial grade so you shouldn't have any worries.
hey, i ain't a fan of gas anymore. went diesel and won't go back, but my 95 was THE most dependable ride i've had to date, it just didn't like to work (3.55 gears didn't help).
yours should pull fine. boss has one identical to mine except it's 5.4, auto, KR, and less miles. apparently theirs does alright, and that's up here in the adirondacks.
