I Have Had An Oil Leak Come And Go For Months. I Found 3 Different Leaks . One Hpop Plug Fixed And Two Hpop Outlet Fittings Also Fixed. Today Lost 4l In Drive Way Just Idling For 10 Min Or So. The One Outlet Line Was Leaking And I Found It Lose. I Tightend And Started The Truck. When I Turned The Truck Over It Blew The Line Right Off. Threads On Line Ok. Striped In Hpop.
My Qestion Is, Can I Just Buy The Striped Part Or Do I Have To Buy The Whole Hpop?
Dont know but a new HPOP isnt cheap... I would look into re-threading the hole. Buy yourself a tap and dye set and call it good. Good luck and let us know...
EDIT: Where are my manners: Welcome to FTE!!!! Glad to have you.
I Just Realized That The Stripped Threades Are In The Hpop . I Thought The Hpop Reservoir Was The Pump. I Dont Know What Retapping Will Do To Already Slopy Threads; Probably More Leaks Down The Road . I Need To Remove The Hpop . Can Anyone Give Advice On Removing It. The Book Tells Me To Remove Turbo, Why?
If you stripped the treads in the housing you might be able to get a heli-coil tread repair kit and do it that way. If it is in the flow of oil you would have to be careful to not get drill or tap shavings into it but I would think it would be possible. Good luck.
