Mine is a 86 and I had the same problem 2 weeks ago. Here is what I did. soak with wd-40, position my engine puller over distributor tie a good rope to the distributor and jurked that mother out. Just like pulling teeth. Can you beleive it didnt even damage it. I was planning on just replacing anyway which I did but I got to turn my old intact one in for a 20 dollar core charge. The new one I got from Oreiley only cost me 50 bucks and it included the electronics in it that is a deal. I cant fill my truck up for 50 bucks. good luck scott.

IMHO, based on 20 years as an agricultural engineer working with REALLY rusty, frozen stuff ....

It IS NOT a penetrant in any way, shape or form.

when mine was stuck, i put a piece of wood on the ridge that is on the base of the distributor then tapped the board with a hammer which rotated the distributor and eventually it broke completely loose.

I agree about the WD. PB Blaster is 10 times the penetrant that WD is.
