I've been looking for a while, found some that i like, and not biased by brand, just have a $13000 budget. Will be using it on the farm, looking for advice.
Thanks
1994 New Holland Lx665 with 1200 hours for $9000
1998 Deere 7775 with 1300 hours $11900 no bucket
1997 Bobcat 763 with 1250 hours 13000
Just make sure they do not have electronic joystick steering and bucket controls. If it is not a inclosed cab you can end up with really slow steering.
the ones with tracks arnt that good on a farm,to much use out in the cow yard will rust out the "boggie" wheels pretty quik. plus new tracks aint cheap

Try this site, they usually have at least one auction a week for equipment all over the country. Lots of skidsteers. Tomorrow (10/30) they've got 50+ available, and that's pretty typical...
Id go with the bobcat myself. The 763 was a good machine, strong, well built, and reliable.
I dont have much experience with the other ones though unfortunatly. From what I hear I would (skid) steer clear of the new holland, and the JD would probably be ok.
Buckets can be pretty costly though, keep that in mind!

Most every thing that needed said was said here in my opinion. I own a Bob Cat myself that serves me well. New Holland at least the earlier hydrolic drive seemed to lack something in the pumps as I have worked on a few of those.
John Deere didn't seem like a bad machine except for the electronics. I suppose all the newer ones suffer from that though.
I'm not a fan of the JD machines, they aren't well designed. The bucket cylinders are really exposed and the rods are soft, so they go out very early.
I would go for a Bobcat S series, or a turbo. The track ones have issues with the drive motors after about 1400hours, but I have had very few problems running the S series in rental service, aside from the footwells packing with mud and interfering with control. The Cat machines are decent, I didn't have any problems with the joystick controls, and they do allow finer control.
Well, I contacted the guy about the Deere (rebadges New Holland) and it's sold. Then looked closer at pics of the New Holland after, finding a pic of a welded up boom. Come to find out the NH has had welding done to it (salesman lied).
So I think I'll be looking some more. Probably more at bobcat maybe a 773 or 763.
The more I think the more confused I get. Having a budget for one doesn't help any.
