I had DTC 0359 show up on my scan tool when checking out our 6.8L for a mis-fire. I looked into what the DTC code is and it's for a Ignition Coil I Primary/Secondary Circuit. I found the following information:
DTC 0351 = Ignition Coil A Primary/Secondary Circuit.
DTC 0352 = Ignition Coil B Primary/Secondary Circuit.
DTC 0353 = Coil C
DTC 0354 = Coil D
0355 = E
0356 = F
0357 = G
0358 = H
0359 = I
etc.
Can I assume the letter in the code discription matches the cyliner number; e.g. A = Cyl. 1, B = Cyl. 2, ......... L = Cyl. 12?
Thanks for the information. The enhanced Ford OBD II codes (beyond Generic) are specific to Ford and Engine Type; maybe that accounts for the ignition coil/glow plug double references.
For gassers, they are ignition coil codes, for the diesel, it's a glow plug code.
Yes, I know. I too was wondering the same thing, but when I checked my resources (saved docs on my hard drive) which list PSD only codes, those two were listed for the PSD, which seemed to coroborate skipping those two numbers, with the final #10 cylinder listed after them.
I dunno, Art.
