I have a 99.5 PSD, nightmare staring in cold weather. I'm planning on just changing out both the relay and the plugs, instead of trying to test each piece individually. I HAVE read some of the other threads relating to glow plugs and the GPR..
My main question is is, do the glow plugs usually come out without too much trouble? Or have many people had problems stripping them in the heads while trying to get them out? Any other tips would be super too.
I would test the relay first to make sure that's not your problem. Should only take 15 seconds to test the relay. If you have to pull a valve cover(s), go ahead and replace all the ones on that side.
Nothing too complicated. After you break the glow plug loose (deep well socket) take the socket off. If you try and remove the glowplug with the socket on there, it gets caught by the rocker arm.
