Glow Plug Harness Changeout
I have a 2007 6.0L and my CEL was throwing trouble codes for #2 and #5 glow plug circuits. I bought the glow plug removal tool on e-bay and bought two new harnesses from the dealer and performed this changeout this weekend. Good thing I also bought two new glowplugs, cause after changing out the harness, the CEL trouble code was still there. I then changed the glow plug and PRESTO, no codes!! I tried to test the old plugs by hooking them up to my jumper cables and they did not get hot at all. Not too bad of a job considering. Is there another way to test glow plugs?

Don't "light them off" too long without being screwed in the block to dissipate the heat, or you will fry them. I just checked them on my little FORD diesel tractor, they were each about 1.3 ohms and glowed when "hotwired".

How difficult of a project is this? I am getting P0673 #6 GP. As I understand, you need to remove the wheel and fender well to access the GP and harness? How long did it take you to make these repairs?
