I spent the day on recon @ one of my favorite stomping grounds and found two (too bad only two of them) OEM Forged Aluminum wheels:
I just looked them up in my 53-96 F100/F150 reference book and apparently they were offered only in 1980/81. I've found this book to be very useful in identifying parts and have mentioned it before.
In case you didn't see the thread, here it is once again (and no, I'm not affiliated with or pushing this publisher - just thought you'd like to know). Tons of interesting information and many good pics of various options that were available:
Those are the rims that are on my 81 now with the same centers. Just polished them for the first time in years last week..lol. I always thought they where form the 70's model ford trucks and someone had just put them on the 81 I have. Maybe not from what you found out about them.

They are definately an Option for 1981. the feature heavily in the 1981 F-Series Brochure.
Hey Stosh, I noticed in most of the books I have seen they tend to skip right on by the 80-86 models. Does this book have good info on these years?
My '85 has the VERY RARE upper (not lower) chrome/black trim that runs the length of the truck. This became an option starting in 1985 and I think it was also on the '86 model. Is there any info on that?

Yes, it covers all model years very thoroughly. Especially the 80/86 years.
There are probably more pics of those years than any other.
I love that spruce/white tu-tone as well. I would be tempted to paint my 1981 spruce, but it is a limited edition Explorer, and the Explorer didn't come in spruce in 1981.
