Need advice on gears
Hey I have a 2000 Excursion with a 7.3 I have it lifted with 38"s and need to change out the factory gears. Any suggestions on what ratio to go with. I do daily drive the truck. Also does anyone know what rears the truck has in it. I cant find a tag on them.

There are calculators here under the 'Articles/Specs' heading on the bar at the top of the page.
I like this one as you can plug in your OD ratio, where the ones above seem to use 1:1 for top gear.

Thanks ya I'm torn between the 456's and the 488's I would love the extra power, but I do a lot of highway driving. Do you know what type of rears are in the truck. I heard it could be a dana front and a splicer rear, but I'm not sure.

Should share the same axle as the SD truck, and the rear is a Sterling 10.5. The front will also share a siilar axle as the SD truck for that year, and this will be a Dana 50.
