Hello. I'm wondering if anyone knows what the plastic thing is? This is on a 1973 F100, between 2 solenoids. 1 of the solenoids was an add on for some type of trailer wiring I think. The pickup had California emissions at one time. Hope my picture shows. Thank you!
Are you able to trace the wiring harness back? Where does it lead? It looks like some kind of regulator. But it has quite a few wires coming from it, which makes me wonder otherwise. Maybe NumberDummy would know. Let us know where the wiring leads because you've got me as curious as you are.
I took the pics before i removed the body. I quickly looked at it yesterday after putting on a different body, to wire it up. I think the wires went into the harness, or at least most of them. But I sure don't want it there if it doesn't have to be. The truck isnt here or I'd go look at it again. It did have a blower to do with pollution at one time and I thought maybe that was it. Maybe we'll all learn something.
I'd venture a guess that its not factory.... I would be interested in seeing the insides of what that does, and if that switch on the face is just a way to reveal the insides, or if its a switch that does something.
