Gotta question for ya- if one were to lets say start rebuilding a 7.3 so when one's does die, where would be a good place to get a rebuild kit. I'm guessing you of course can get standard .030 pistons, .010 bearings etc. ??
Danny, just do a look at Alliant Power's website, or Mahle's website for local distributors. Odds are, once you find a distributor for one of those guys, it will be a shop that can sell you just about anything you need for a rebuild.
No, to get a rebuild kit, i would recommend the Powerstrokeshop rebuild kit. It includes just about everything you need, well, screw that, EVERYTHING you need for a rebuild.
Original poster, you did use NEW headbolts and gaskets on reassembly, right?
Thanks guys,Kris- I'll look into that. My engine between running rough and the past couple of UOA's coming back with less than great results are kinda leaning me toward wanting another one on standby. But with everything go-fast a poor man can afford LOL.
I think that website changed their links cause its a subscription service and lots of people were getting on for free. There was a thread about it not to long ago. Maybe I can dig it up.
Just subscribing to this thread in case Trevor is able to find the link to an assembly manual for a 7.3.
