Strang Thing Happened

With the truck last night. Just went for a ride to relax and the next thing I know the truck starts to run real bad then dies after about a half mile. Long story short, ran out of fuel. The gauge on the front tank went not to long ago and I was running on the front. Dumped a few gallons in the rear tank and went to fill up and the front tank was FULL. The trip meter said I got 30 miles out of the front tank before it went dry? Did some driving on the front tank today about 8 miles or so. So what can this be all about?

Fuel selector valve not working? Possibly it's not switching tanks, it has a small electric motor that that does the actual switching and you should be able to hear it "zipp" as it shuttles from one position to the other. If your hearing is as bad as mine you may have to lay under the truck near the valve while someone flips the tank switch for you. Does your front gauge read "E" or "F"?

"F" would be an easier fix, that's just an open circuit between the tank and the selector. "E" is probably the float.

15 amp #6 in the cab protects the tank selector, the keyless entry and the the a/c clutch.

Selector valve seems to be good. I can hear it from in the truck with the window down. Cant imagine what went wrong. But every thing seems to be fine now I have 130 miles on the front tank. Thanks for the help. At least I know the valve is good.
