I've seen a bunch of old posts where people post their VIN number and others say what they mean. Is there a post or a place where this information is laid out? At least something that tells what all of the engine codes mean? I'm dealing with a 1960 F100.
The best place to look is in the Chassis Parts and Accessories Catalogue. It usually has a break down in the front matter.
But, if you don't have one of those, I suggest you post a picture of your rating plate or post the actual data and folks will be able to tell you what the numbers mean.
The guy who normally has the the gouge on this is "Number Dummy." But as I recall, "Col Flashman" is a big early 60s Ford guy. You might consider sending each of them an e-mail. Haven't seen much of them in the posts this week.

Julie!
You've only been looking in one forum, kiddo.
My average per day post count is 25!
I'm usually here on FTE 10-12 hours a day (which tells you I need a life!).
I post in: 1948/60 / 1961/66 / 1967/72 / 1973/79 / 1980/86 / 1987/96 / Early Bronco's / Ranchero's / later Bronco's / Econolines / SoCal/Hawaii Chapter / FE engines...yadda yadda yadda.
deyomatic can post his VIN, other info here..or email it to me.
AFAIK, Col. Flashman (who's a pal of mine, and lives only a coupla miles away) doesn't have his parts catalogs available, as they are stored away.

I don't know, I've been checking the yadda yadda yadda forum for awhile, and haven't seen you.
I've got most of it decoded, but I just was wondering the what the different engine codes were, What does "C" mean? What does a "B" mean?...etc. How many different engines were offered in a 1960 F100?

Where is it? I'll waltz over there and put in my 2 cents worth!
Julie: Check out the post on 6 Volt starter relay's I posted earlier. It took almost an hour to research and type that one post.

I wan't sure about the Colonel. He seems to know alot about this vintage so I threw him out as a back-up.
Oh I know I just play in this forum, but it's plenty for me!!!!! My answers are not know for their brevity either. Too bad you don't get paid for all your work here, you wouldn't have to drive an OLD truck !
