I just finished up inside the tank, hutch and harpoon, waiting on fuel line at the parts store.I am putting in a clear filter for the start up (spin on filter will be next) so I can see the fuel flow. What should I see clear fuel or will it be some foam?
I would think that any foam/air bubble would be bad and an indication of a leak. I would double check your filter connections, hose clamps that small will create a small leak, foam for a second might not be bad but air or foam continuous will cause damage. if you can double clamp it.
Well all is done and I now have nice clear fuel going through the filter and to the eng.My only prob. doing this was get the ring on top of the tank started. So I don't think it was to hard to do,about four hours, lost a hour waiting on fuel line.
next on the fuel list is a reg. return.and 140v mod for the IDM.
I see you did your 140v did it make a diff. with the way it ran
It improved my 0-60 times by a little over a 1/10 second. Throttle response and low end power have increased. I did this back in April and have seen no adverse effects so far.

Not that it would help now, but a trick is to keep the tank in the shade where its cool and put the ring in the sun so it warms up and expands. Another option is to put the ring in a pot of hot water. Its much easier to start then.
