1997 explorer wipers won't shut off

I am having trouble with the wipers on my 1997 explorer. The first problem is with the intermittent function. If i turn my wipers on int, they function as if i had put them on low. When i put them on low or high, they function perfectly. Normally with just that, i would assume it is the muti function switch, but there is a second problem here. If i switch the wipers to the off position, they continue to function in low. The only way i have found to shut them off is by turning the truck off when they reach the bottom, have to time it right, otherwise they keep going.

So here are the things that i have replaced. First i started with the mulit function switch, that didn't do the trick, so i decided to replace the wiper motor, but again that didn't do it. I then spoke to a friend of mine, and he suggested i change the computer located behind the radio, which controls the wipers, the four wheel drive, and a few other things which have escaped my mind. So i got a computer from the junk yard because they are pretty expensive new, and i installed it into my truck. Started the car up, and turned the wipers on, they worked for about a second on int, and then without me even hitting the switch, they started to function as though they were on low again, i tired to shut them off and was faced with the same problems.

Normally i wouldn't care, but the problem with this is that i am past inspection, and it failed because of the wipers not shutting off, so i need your help!!

thank you for taking the time to look over my problem, and i hope to hear from you guys soon, have a great day!!

Looks like all thats left to check are the 2 wiper relays.

Might be one thats stuck closed. Relays are in the power distribution box under the hood drivers side.

Your owners manual should tell you the relays to check or there might be a diagram on the underside of the relay box lid.

I agree on the relays. They are pretty cheap, < $15 and most auto store will have them.

If it isn't the relay, it will be the Park switch in the wiper transmission.
