power window failure

Been there done that. On mine the window regulator gear stripped out. The regulator is not available unless you go to a bone yard. That one will wear out too. If you find a new one on the internet it will be the wrong one....I've bought new from 2 different places. They send you the front door regulator.
End of rant
I hope you have a bad motor, at least you can get one of those.
You can smack the door while someone holds the button. Maybe it will roll up one last time so your truck is sealed up.
Who ever placed the window button at knee level should be...well you know LOL

Do you here the motor run? If so try helping it up and see what happens. I cant explain it very well but the window gear has a gear has little rubber ***** in it to take the shock when the motor starts to move. They ware out and you can get a kit for it. I just take 1/4 in nuts and wrap electrical tape around them and put them in the place of the ruber *****. Basically you need to tare into it and see what you find.

Just FYI, all power on a CC goes through contacts on the drivers master switch first. If it fails then that window(s) will not work. Went through this earlier this year. I could roll down all three .. passenger front / rear and drivers rear but master would not roll then up. Had to use individual door switch to get them to go up. Did a lot of extensive VOM testing and finally pulled the master switch and opened it up. Inside the contacts were all green with water corrosion and those contacts (copper) were so tiny very hard to clean up. Bottom line I did not hurt anything but still same problem.
I probably searched the internet for a couple months and finally went to the dealership and got an entire master switch for $57. Ten minutes later it was installed and working great ever since. Not that it's your issue but though I would share.

Any other oil will make a mess. Thumping at the bottom might be the bottom stop has loosened or needs adjustment.
If you keep using it like that the motor might burn out prematurely. Remove the door panel and lube up all the sliders.
Look for loose bolts and adjust the window if it cocking in it's tracks.

You can probly find it cheaper if you look around. This was the first one I saw with a pic. Anyhow the 3 rubber ***** (grey in this pic) ware out and the gear jumps around them. making the window jump when going up. Lube the runs and do everything Cuda said and it that doesnt help them I would say this is you problem. FYI if the motor has not been removed yet then you will have to drill the holes for them. There should be a spot already punched to drill. Not hard at all to do just drill them out big enough to fit a 10mm socket in there,

This the gear I ranted about in post #3 above:
Shop 1A Auto® for 1981-96 Ford F250 Pickup Truck Window Regulator Power Front Door Passenger Side for your F-Series Pickup
The circular gear in the picture above had 4-5 teeth ground off by the window motor gear.
The picture is for a front window but looks the same.
