Sputters and Shuts Off Randomly
My late ’99 F-350 PSD with 227,000 miles on it sputters when you are driving it at speed and if you are not moving like at a stop light instead of just sputtering it shuts off like you turn the key off. I thought it was the fuel filter so I changed that and thought it fixed it but it kept doing it the next day. It is weird some days it will not do it all day and some days it will do it a dozen times or more. Not only is it annoying but I do not want to burn out the starter, or cause further damage. Also on the days it decides to run good you would never know that anything was wrong with it, it runs completely normal. I hate problems like this!

it is a sensor located on the passenger side just above the crank shaft pulley on the front of the engine....it is very simple to change you need a 10mm socked a short extension and a flat head screw driver to pop the old one out.
To replace pull the plug off, take out the bolt pry the old sensor out and put the new one in put the bolt in and put the plug back on making sure not to wrinkle the moisture guard...takes about 10 minutes

Your IP address is coming from Germany and unfortunately, I had blocked the entire 84.x.x.x subnet due to spam bots and hackers from this subnet trying to spam the forum. I have lifted this subnet so it should work now but if the spammers hit again, I may have to lock it up again..... Sorry.
